Welcome to Manipur

A beautiful state among the Northeastern States of India, Manipur is extraordinarily blessed by Mother Nature with rich biodiversity. The blend of tripling rivers, colourful blooming flowers, chirping of various birds, the endemic species like Brow Antlered Deer (Sangai) and the enchanting wonderful lakes in the midst of lush green hilly terrain makes the state mesmerizing. The resources on flora & fauna in Manipur are yet to be explored to its potential. There are many more places which needs attention and desire to convert them to a tourist destination. However, it should also be accepted that the ones that have been explored here are no less.

 

Manipur is a land with many tribes, different culture, languages yet they live in a harmonious environment. Their dedication, sincerity and determination to their work is commendable and have proved it time and again. This is evident from their war time heroes of the past to present day’s talents which may be in sports or any other struggle.

 

Rich in biodiversity, art and tradition, inhabited by devoted peoples, this blue green hilly state, Manipur has earned accolades like “Switzerland of the East”, “Jewel of India” etc.

Also known as Bishenpur, Bishnupur is the headquarter of Bishnupur District. With its rich heritage on culture and religion, Bishnupur is often called as the culture and religious capital of Manipur. The erstwhile LUmlengdang is also famous for conical temple of Lord Vishnu which was constructed in 1467 during the reign of King Kyamba. Famous Chieselle Stoneware clubbed with various indigenous cuisines make the place worth visiting.
