Founded as 23rd state of Indian Union in 1987, Mizoram is bestowed with beauty of nature by Mother nature. The state shares international boundary with Bangladesh and Myanmar stretching over a distance of 722 Km. The hilly terrain ornamented by meandering streams and deep Georges in the midst of lush greenery makes the state distinctive and nature’s beauty of Mizoram panoramic. The pleasant weather clubbed with amicable Mizo peoples offers you a unique experience of quality hospitality with international touch. The state is also renowned for its high literacy rate proving that difficult terrain is not a hurdle to attain education.

Before you plan for a trip to Mizoram, please arrange to get Inner Line Permit from any of the following locations.

  • Foreign Visitors : All foreign nationals have to register themselves at the office of Superintendent of Police (CID/SB) Mizoram who is the designated Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) of the State within 24 hours of arrival. Citizens of Afghanistan, China and Pakistan and foreign nationals having their origin in these countries would continue to require prior approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs before entering the state.
  • Indian Visitors : Inner Line Pass is required for entry into Mizoram and can be obtained from Liaison Officer, Government of Mizoram from different offices. For details of ILP of Mizoram.

 

Government employees travelling for official purposes are exempted from obtaining ILP but are required to carry a photo identification card with them at all times. Tourists arriving by air can obtain passes from the Security Officer on arrival at Lengpui airport from Officer in Charge, Anti Hijacking Security, Civil Aerodrome, Lengpui, Aizawl.
